The Home Truth: Karnia-Ruthenia

Following on from reports by the ‘Al Occitania’ that Karnia-Ruthenia’s war against Socialist Republic of Juznoslavia was a fake, we decided to do a little digging ourselves. While the article is essence is correct, the blame is wrongly aimed at the Empire for fabricating the entire scenario. However, we have been privileged to a large amount of evidence that points toward one individual, working alone and without the consent of the Emperor. That individual is Thomas of Cumagne. He betrayed his Emperor and the nation by fabricating Juznoslavia and declaring war on Karnia-Ruthenia. To cover his tracks he deleted vital emails, changed a password to a national email address (refusing access to other government officials) and tried to take the Karno-Ruthenian website and forums offline.

The motive for this treachery seems to be to weaken the Emperor’s position within his own nation in an attempt to seize control. Fortunately, the swiftness of Karnia-Ruthenia to react to this sabotage stopped the Empire from certain humiliation. However, this does highlight the importance of trust within all micronations.

Civil War Over, DRCC Annexation Given Mandate To Go Ahead

Yesterday was quite a momentous day for the Imperial Grand Duchy of Lundenwic as the keys to the territory of Bedfunta were officially handed back to the Baron of Bedfunta, Lord Lewis. The handing over of the keys, as foretold last month, marks an official end to the Lundener Civil War. Al Powell and the Marquis of New Charter chatted amicably before the keys were handed over. The Imperial Government is keen to thank all of those who supported them during the Civil War. The Prime Minister commented, “We made the pledge that the Civil War would be over this year and we have fulfilled that pledge. This is a historic day and I thank all those involved.” We are guessing he didn’t mean the Communists in his comment.

Earlier in the day, Dallin Langford revealed the referendum in the DRCC to join the Imperial Grand Duchy of Lundenwic had passed with a massive 80% majority. This means the Treaty of Mir can finally be signed and the territory of Cinnamon Creek incorporated into Lundenwic. This will be the first ever micronation annexed by Lundenwic and the Imperial Government is committed to bringing back it’s former glory, brimming with activity. The Minister of the Interior was quick to welcome the DRCC by saying, “I’d like to welcome our new brothers into the fold of Lundenwic,” while the Prime Minister reiterated Lundenwic’s commitment to the Protectorate of Cinnamon Creek, “This is a great chance of the community to see what we can do. For too long now we’ve hidden our inner workings and achievements. We’ve been greatly helped by the community and it is about time we gave back, about time that we helped.”Soon-to-be Governor-General Dallin Langford who actually held the referendum within the former DRCC said, “I think the signing of the Treaty of Mir, is excellent, there is no words to describe my joy in DRCC joining Lundenwic. Activity will soar higher than ever before and we will be in an honorable nation. I’m certainly pleased at the aspect of Ludenwic’s annexation of DRCC. May God Bless Lundenwic!” Lastly, our greatest ally and friend, HI&RM, Oscar, Emperor-King of Karnia-Ruthenia, one with much experience in this kind of expansion congratulated us by saying, “The DRCC joining with Lundenwic means they will become greater and bring much needed democracy to a young micro nation that has already suffered too much. This is the beginning of a reign of stability to them.”

The Imperial Government is proud to announce that diplomatic relations with the Geovannian Union. The treaty was officially signed by Generalissamo De Geo on the 21st October, marking the start of relations. The Geovannian Union is a micronation located in Mexico and led by Presidente Vitalicio, Generalissamo Gabriel De Geo. The nation is close to our own in that numerous cabinet positions are held by members of the military. The Imperial Government had also sent a badge with the treaty as a little gift to our new friends. We are honoured that the Generalissamo was pictured wearing the badge with the treaty.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also confirmed that Karnia-Ruthenia has received the final copy of our newly signed treaty. Although the treaty was officially sign on the 31st May and came into effect on that date, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had waited until a copy of the treaty had been received in Karno-Ruthenia before announcing it. The treaty itself is just more comprehensive than the last and includes economical co-operation and non-aggression clauses.

The Prime Minister , Lord Lewis, commented:

“Both treaties are a sign of our strength and growth. The Geovannian Union is a brilliant nation and I look forward to seeing more from them. The new treaty with Karno-Ruthenia just cements are amazing friendship. We have both seen each other through difficult times and it is completely natural that we have a treaty that reflects this.”

The Imperial Armed Forces Retrieve Last of Stolen Documents

The Imperial Armed Forces have managed to retrieve the last of the stolen documents believed to be in possession of the Communist Rebels in Bedfunta. The operation was led by our very own Prime Minister, while the Communist Rebels were believed to be away for a few days. While only a minor operation, it has relieved the fears that these documents, important to recording Lundenwic’s history, could be lost. It has been announced that the Prime Minister led a team of three others to the territory, using a key to gain access. While inside the property they quickly found the documents they were looking for and left. So far, the Imperial Armed Forces are refusing to answer how they knew the Communist Rebels would be away and whether any other documents were found inside.

This will surely serve to bolster the Government’s continued campaign to seek back the territory of Bedfunta. The Imperial Government appears extremely confident that they will win back control of the last remaining territory this year. They have not released any details or plans of how to do this, but they have the backing of most of the populace as well as micronations throughout the Microwiki community. Most notably is the support of Karnia-Ruthenia, long time friend of Lundenwic, who has provided propaganda posters and diplomatic aide.

Karnia-Ruthenia Aides Fight Against Communists

Karnia-Ruthenia has pledged it’s full support behind the Imperial Government against the Communist threat. They have graciously provided the Government with two propaganda posters to bolster the fight as well as advising the Government on how to continue. Karnia-Ruthenia is the latest in a line of micronations that have pledged their support, the others being Leylandiistan & Gurvata, Paravia and the Universal Triumvirate.
